Information We Collect

When you use REI Automated, we collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, phone number, and payment information. This includes what you enter when you register for an event or webinar, start a trial, book a call, or send us a message through our contact form. If you check a box agreeing to receive text messages or calls, we also keep a record of that consent, including the wording you agreed to, the page you were on, and when you agreed.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our website or submit a form, we may record details about your browser and device, such as your browser's user agent (the browser, version, and operating system it reports). We also record your IP address with your sign-up and when you click a referral link, and the site or campaign that brought you to us. Our hosting provider and the services we use may also receive your IP address as part of normal internet traffic.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small files that a website saves in your browser. We use the following on reiautomated.io:

  • rei_ref: saves the code from a referral (affiliate) link you clicked, so the right person is credited if you sign up. It lasts 60 days and is used for attribution. Depending on the page, it is set for this site only or for reiautomated.io and its subdomains.
  • reia_ref and reia_promo: set by our referral script. They save the referral code and any promo code from a link you clicked. They usually last 90 days and are set for reiautomated.io and its subdomains.
  • rei_ch: saves a short channel tag from a tagged link (such as podcast, event, or social) so we know where you first heard about us. It lasts 90 days and is set for reiautomated.io and its subdomains.
  • rei_channel and rei_channel_detail: save the source of your first visit (for example, a search engine, a social network, or a direct visit). They last 90 days and are set for reiautomated.io and its subdomains.
  • dealstream_funnel: keeps your place in our checkout flow. It is set for reiautomated.io and its subdomains and is removed when you close your browser.
  • rei_vid (being introduced): a random visitor ID that we set on reiautomated.io and that lasts about one year. We use it to link your visits and sign-ups together for fraud prevention and attribution. It does not contain your name or email. We do not sell it.

Our website also uses Google Tag Manager, which loads measurement tags that we configure, and a referral script served from affiliates.reiautomated.io, which records clicks on referral links. The referral script sends the page you landed on, the referring page, your browser's user agent, and your IP address to our servers. These tools can set their own cookies or read the cookies above to do their job. Some pages use your browser's session storage to keep a form entry for the length of your visit.

Bot and Fraud Prevention

We use Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise on our sign-up and contact forms to tell real people from bots and to stop fraud and abuse. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information, such as device and application data, and sends it to Google for analysis. This happens in the background and you do not need to click anything. Your use of reCAPTCHA is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We also use a hidden form field, rate limits, and the device details described above to spot repeated or automated sign-ups.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve our services, process transactions, register you for events, send event reminders, account messages, and, if you agreed, marketing emails, text messages, and calls (including automated ones) from REI Automated and its DealBase product, and provide customer support. We also use it to measure which channels and referrals bring people to us, to credit referrals correctly, and to prevent fraud and abuse.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Service Providers and Third-Party Services

We share information with companies that help us run our business. Each has its own privacy policy.

  • Stripe, for payment processing. Card details are entered with Stripe and are not stored on our website.
  • Google, for reCAPTCHA Enterprise (bot and fraud prevention), Google Tag Manager, and Google Fonts.
  • Vercel, our hosting provider, which serves this website and runs its sign-up forms.
  • Our own REI Automated systems, which store your sign-up and consent records and our customer records.
  • Podio, our customer relationship management tool, which stores contact records for people who sign up.
  • BerserkerMail, the platform that manages our event and webinar lists. It receives your name, email address, phone number, and the event you registered for.
  • Email providers, including Amazon SES and Resend, and text message and calling providers, including smrtPhone and Telnyx, which deliver confirmations, reminders, marketing messages, and support replies.
  • Atlassian Jira Service Management, which receives your name, email address, and message when you use our contact form.
  • Slack, where our team receives internal alerts about new sign-ups.
  • Sentry, which receives error reports from our systems.
  • Calendly, if you choose to book a call with us.

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or your text message opt-in and consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We share it only with the service providers listed above that help us run our business, and only so they can provide services to us.

How Long We Keep Information

We keep logs and device details only as long as needed for security and fraud prevention. We keep account, sign-up, and consent records for as long as we need them to provide our services, meet legal and tax obligations, and resolve disputes. The cookies above expire on their own after the periods listed.

Your Choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, our site still works, but referral credit and source tracking may not, and some fraud checks may be less accurate. You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any text, and out of marketing emails with the unsubscribe link in those emails. To ask us to delete your personal information or to see what we hold about you, contact us using the details below.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know, access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising. To make a request, email admin@reiautomated.io or use our contact page. We will verify your request before acting on it and will not treat you differently for making it. We may need to keep some records, such as payment and consent records, to meet legal obligations.
